Founded in 2012 by Derek Maxfield and Melanie Huscroft, a brother-and-sister team, Younique started with the mission to uplift, empower, and validate women across the globe.
The company that specializes in peer-to-peer sales of cosmetics found eCommerce as another avenue for them to sustain their rapid growth. As a brand distributing via direct to consumer and growing up in the digital age, Younique had a distinct advantage over older heritage brands.
Younique needed to connect their Distributed Order Management (DOM) system to Shopify Plus and trusted in ChannelApe to get it done.
The challenge: Proprietary software and deadlines
Younique needed to connect their fresh Shopify Plus store to their DOM system, a proprietary service used to receive and route orders, move inventory, and act as an intermediary between their shipping operations and the customer. A challenge on its own but with the largest Younique convention a short month away, they needed a partner who can rise to the challenges inherent in proprietary software and meet their firm deadline.
ChannelApe used our pre-built connection to Shopify Plus and developed a custom interface with the Younique DOM. The final product was a fault-tolerant system complete with features like order and fulfillment automation, support for multiple warehouses, and retries to handle the exceptional load experienced during the convention.
But it didn’t end there. Because of the significance of the event, ChannelApe also provided round-the-clock support to help tackle any unforeseen obstacles.
